Who We Are
Pets4Life Louisville is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that every pet—and their family—has access to quality, preventative pet care. Building on the trusted model of the Humane Society’s Pets for Life initiative, we focus on pet retention by offering a wide range of wellness resources and support. Our work is rooted in community and mutual aid, reflecting our commitment to keeping pets and their people together.
We proudly serve neighborhoods where veterinary resources are scarce, operating primarily in 8 underserved Louisville zip codes and expanding into additional areas throughout Greater Metro Louisville. From our pop-up vet clinics and mobile pet care hubs to our virtual PetCare Hub Navigator, we strive to meet pet families wherever they are.
Our Mission
Our mission is to increase pet retention, boost pet wellness, and reduce animal suffering by breaking down barriers to vet care in underserved communities. We believe that every pet deserves quality, affordable healthcare—whether through a neighborhood pop-up clinic, an informative outreach event, or by simply connecting families with vital pet resources.
What We Do
Preventative Vaccine/Wellness Clinics
We offer essential, preventative care—including basic vaccines, wellness check-ups, and more—to help keep pets healthy and prevent future emergencies. Our approach focuses on early intervention and long-term care.
Pop-Up Pet Resource Events & Mobile PetCare Hub
By bringing services directly to neighborhoods, our pop-up events and mobile hub ensure that those without nearby vet clinics can still access the care they need. Our expanded network includes 3 in-person pet care hubs, a mobile hub that serves high-need areas, and our innovative virtual PetCare Hub Navigator that connects families with resources online and by phone.
💬 PetCare Hub Navigator
The PetCare Hub Navigator is our first stop for pet families who need help finding care. Whether you’re looking for low-cost vet options, need help signing up for a clinic, or aren’t sure where to turn—our Navigator provides guidance, answers questions, and connects you to available resources in the community.
If you’re not able to find what you need through the Navigator, don’t worry—Jen, our PetCare Hub Manager, is here to help. Jen steps in to provide one-on-one support for more complex situations, like overcoming transportation barriers, navigating spay/neuter scheduling, or finding creative solutions when traditional resources fall short.
Together, the Navigator and Jen form the heart of our Pet Mutual Aid Hub, making sure no pet family is left behind. If you’re not sure where to start—start with the Petcare Hub Navigator Page. We’ll walk with you from there!
Innovative Programs & Campaigns
New initiatives like our Snips & Chips Campaign and Complete Fix Program underline our commitment to prevention. The Snips & Chips Campaign focuses on educating the community about spay/neuter and microchipping, offering free microchip clinics and affordable options for spay/neuter surgeries. With the Complete Fix Program, Jefferson County residents can access a bundled package of spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, deworming, and more—all designed to deliver a $500+ value for just $30–$40.
Community & Partnerships
At our core, we’re about collaboration. As the original Louisville group focused on pet retention, we work side by side with community partners and mission groups—from local parks and recreation, humane societies, and veterinary service providers to grassroots organizations. Our community-led approach transforms not just individual lives but entire neighborhoods, turning every interaction into a ripple of positive change.
By maintaining a strong focus on prevention, education, and accessible care, Pets4Life Louisville helps keep families together—and ensures that every pet has a fighting chance to live a healthy, happy life. Whether you’re a pet owner, a community partner, or a supporter of our mission, we welcome you to join our Pet Mutual Aid Hub and be part of the change.
